Toyota of Dothan's Souper Bowl Food Drive

Toyota of Dothan’s Annual Souper Bowl Drive, Big Results for Wiregrass Seniors

Every year around the Big Game, our Toyota of Dothan team rallies the community for one of our favorite traditions, the Annual Souper Bowl Food Drive. It’s simple, bring soup, help seniors, and remind our neighbors that the Wiregrass shows up when it counts.

This drive supports the Wiregrass Area Food Bank’s Brown Bag Program, a supplemental grocery program for eligible seniors (age 60+) across Houston, Henry, Dale, Coffee, Geneva, and Barbour counties. Each month, seniors receive bags of groceries during the third week of the month, right when many budgets are running thin.

By the numbers

Thanks to an incredible outpouring of generosity, here’s what this year’s Souper Bowl Drive delivered:

  • 2,254 pounds of soup donated
  • $328.29 raised in cash donations
  • The cash donation helps translate into two cans for every senior enrolled in the Brown Bag Program across the Food Bank’s six-county service area

And behind those numbers is the real story, seniors in our communities getting a warm, filling option during the colder months, plus a little extra breathing room in their grocery budget.

A community effort, year after year

Toyota of Dothan has hosted this Souper Bowl Drive for years, and it has become a steady reminder of what makes our area special. People donate while they’re out running errands, families toss in a few extra cans, and our employees pull it all off year after year. It’s neighbors helping neighbors.

And yes, our community showed out this year at Southside Walmart on the collection days. Thank you to everyone who stopped, donated, shared, and encouraged others to do the same.

Thank you, Wiregrass

To everyone who gave, whether it was one can or a cart full, thank you. Your kindness turns into real meals for real people, and it matters more than you know.

We’re proud of our Toyota of Dothan family, proud of our community, and grateful to partner with organizations like the Wiregrass Area Food Bank who keep showing up for our seniors across the Wiregrass.
