At Mitchell Automotive, supporting our veterans is deeply personal. Our founder, John Mitchell, is a veteran himself, and honoring those who served our country has always been a value we hold close. This fall, we were proud to support Wiregrass Honor Flight and host the Veterans Ruck March at our dealership, two efforts rooted in gratitude, service, and remembrance.
Wiregrass Honor Flight: A Long-Overdue Thank You
Wiregrass Honor Flight honors veterans of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam by providing a free, one-day trip to Washington, D.C., allowing them to visit the memorials built in their honor. For many veterans, this journey is a powerful and emotional reminder that their service is never forgotten.
Mitchell CDJR was honored to sponsor a veteran’s trip, helping make this meaningful experience possible at no cost to the veteran. One of our own, Jailyn Love, a service technician at Mitchell CDJR, volunteered as a guardian for Veteran Rev. Harvey Williams, accompanying him throughout the journey and ensuring his day was one of comfort, respect, and honor.
A standout moment of the trip was a special tour of the U.S. Capitol led by Senator Katie Britt, who also took time to speak with the veterans and answer questions. It was a meaningful reminder of the sacrifices these men and women made and the gratitude owed to them, not just in words, but in action.

Veterans Ruck March: Carrying the Weight Together
Wiregrass Honor Flight also hosts the Veterans Ruck March to raise funds for future honor flights, ensuring more veterans can experience this life-changing journey.
On November 15, 2025, Mitchell CDJR proudly hosted the ruck march at our dealership, serving as both the starting and ending point for the event. Participants completed either a 5K run or an 11-mile walk around the Boll Weevil Circle, carrying weighted backpacks, 35 pounds for men and 25 pounds for women, symbolizing the physical and mental weight carried by those who serve.
Seven Mitchell Automotive employees participated in the march, walking alongside fellow community members in support of our veterans. Many participants also filled their backpacks with donations for SOS Animal Shelter in Enterprise, turning the challenge into an opportunity to give back in multiple ways.
We extend a special thank you to the Enterprise Fire Department for raising the American flag and to the Enterprise Police Department for escorting our marchers, helping make the event both meaningful and safe for everyone involved.

Grateful to Serve Those Who Served
Supporting Wiregrass Honor Flight and hosting the Veterans Ruck March allowed us to come together as a community to honor courage, sacrifice, and service. We are grateful to play a small part in showing our veterans the appreciation they deserve, not just on one day, but always.
From all of us at Mitchell CDJR, thank you to the heroes who served our country and to the organizations that continue to honor them.
